The California Coastal Commission met in Santa Cruz from March 12–14. Major items included approval of the Santa Cruz Beach Management Plan, which extends the city’s management strategies for Main and Cowell Beaches, and an appeal hearing for a blufftop access project in Carlsbad. Other items addressed public access, coastal hazards, and local coastal program updates.
